Although it’s more subtle than in the Midwest, I’ve come to notice and appreciate the change of seasons here in SW Florida. I promise you, we are in a full-on Florida fall right now. Imagine my surprise then to find blooming lilies and the fragrance of spring in our neighborhood tonight. I don’t know what tree this is exactly, but these beautiful pink blooms filled me with such joy and delight! This handful had already fallen from the tree, literally joy for today found right along my path.

Don’t let your joy be dependent on this hot mess of an election cycle in the midst of a pandemic. Look around you and stop worrying. Nature testifies of God’s goodness. There really is strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow!

“Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?” ~ Luke 12:27-28
